As some of you know (the ones Ive been bothering with it), I have been looking for info on Cosworth BOB wiring etc. Here is the reason why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvZU4YYSvhU]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvZU4YYSvhU. This is one of its first testruns, you can still see the pretty loose wiring on the floor   not to mention the fact that the battery was flying around the trunk...

Don't take this wrong but I never see these cars on UK roads and yet yours is immaculate.  How do you make them survive all these years with all that snow and wet weather?  Do they salt the roads in winter?  Or, is your car very rare in your country as well as being rare here?  I always liked the fastbacks, there were a lot of gold ones iirc.

Good video.

the car was brought from sweden in the autumn. the targa roof and body strenghtening was already there when it got here. It had suffered a nose crash after which the owner lost interest and somebody stole bunch of stuff out of it. It is extreemly rare here. As far as I know its the only gxl coupe that drives here in Estonia. Sad to say its not mine, I only helped with the engine install. I do have couple of coupe bodys that hopefully will become a GT coupe one day (GT being a bit more sporty interior). Taunus was only built lhd, so thats why very rare in the UK. I have seen one very good body sold over there years ago, you could build rhd from the lhd coupe body and old cortina of the same era
Cheers

I always asumed that a Taunus was a Cortina, ie the same car but rebadged but maybe I'm wrong. I've never seen a fastback like that.  On reflection it was the granada coupes that I used to see.

They became the same in the next generation. This one still has some differences in the bodywork etc. I dont think back then there was a panel on taunus that would fit cortina.. or maybe doors? mechanically the parts are interchangeable.

Thats how i like it.

Sadly, here, its all bracket racing. For 12 years now and i hate driving against my self.

I build the blue capri v8 as a drag racer, 15 years ago, but when they started whit bracket racing, the fun was over.

Well done Andres, as far as I know you have the most powerful Cologne based engine ever.

Fantastic  ;D

You got a big jump in power at 7K so them cams must be something special.
Turbo spools late but that don't matter on the drag track much does it.

Awesome Andres!

Shows what the 24V can do if done right!

Did you go steel crank etc in the end then?

Guess the bonnet was not ment to fly off like that lol, you must have been doing over 120mph by then!
Dave

Andres

It´s stock crank  ;)
I holp it´s hold my power. Wanna get 1000bhp then i´m happy :P

Dave

Amazing, the 4.0L crank has been known to twist a few times at above 600lbs yet the STD 24v ones don't!

Guess the slightly less stroke is the factor as they are basically the same material/design.

You're close enough to hit 1000 bhp on a good run I think, keep trying  ;D

I say again awesome!
Dave

I would not like to be in the next lane next to you, with a Bugatti Veyron.

How can you explain to your friends that you got beaten by a old taunus  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport does only 10.1 s @ 240.9 km (with 1183 bhp / 1500 Nm)
