O.k I hear on the grapevine that Specialized engines are getting TT or have bought the rights to the 2.9 TT & 2.8 TT kits.

These are complete kits as TT did them selves from the orginal drawings.
Brand new castings & turbo's. Yeah all new, with probably a complete engine rebuild I would think!

Great news for us TT owners

Geoff has mentioned something about it in the past but that's all I know.
Now I am hearing from others it's actually happening.

Anyone know anymore or got a link or something?

O.K

I have now spoken to both of the main people involved in this.

Yes full TT kits are going to be re-marketed yet again but by specialised engines.
TT make them, specialised engines sell, fit & supply spares if need be.

There will be a single 2.8 kit

a twin turbo 2.9 kit

& a 24V twin turbo kit.

Great news for TT owners & 24v owners too.

These kits won't be out till early next year when you should start seeing adverts.

Both parties at the moment say it's going to happen
Dave

TwinTurbo

Cool...

If I was not strapped for folding after moving house then I would be putting myself in the queue...

Should see a big resurgance in fast XR's now

TT

TwinTurbo

They would do well with the DOHC kit, minimal work for 50bhp...

Only problem for all kits is finding folke with cars worth spending ££££ on.

Well it's the Capri where the money is at the moment.

It's these owners that have got TT interested

They all seem to be well off

I am not going to say what kinda price we are talking as you would think I was pulling your leg.

I'll be interested to see how comprehensive the 24v kit is and if it's bolt on or an engine build as well.

capri v8 driver

i am curious about that as well. i know that the (bolt on) twin turbo kit for the 24v sold by eibergh took alot off modification's for a just bold on kit.

Funny that, I did a RV8 TT conversion on a capri not so long back, bit of a squeeze for the turbo's but they fitted in the end:)

anyone know if a 2.9 is on the cards? if they own the rights to do it why havnt they ? surely its not too much hassle , they have already built one before  maybe they need some pre orders to encourage them a bit

Anyone who is interested in a 2.9 kit & has the money needs to let them know.
Just the same as the 2.8 kits.

Once a certain number of people confirm a order then kits will be made.

TT have had some 24V TT bit's & bobs in stock for years but people have assumed they didn't do conversions any more but that actually depends who you talk to
