A few things may catch a few out there.

Espically anyone doing headlight conversions! :(

Fortunately it should be easy to switch the HIDs back to standard for the MOT.  It will take me a couple of minutes to do mine, take out the HID bulbs, disconnect the wiring, pull the fuse and fit the standard bulbs back in.  The original wiring is still all there.

theres no reason to fail illegally fitted HID lights with the new regs though

the wording for testing the levelling and washers is that some vehicles with HID/LED lights 'may' have them fitted  :P

yet to see any vehicles with indirect vision devices fitted though  ;D

I just read through the regs and as you say mk2 cossie, HID installations MAY have wash and or levelling systems which MUST work if fitted.  This reg is obviously being widely misinterpreted as people are quoting that HID systems MUST have wash and levelling systems.  Lets hope that the testers don't misinterpret the regs.

I will ask a mate to look on the VOSA computer.

If it is not listed on there they can not fail it!

Well of course the actual selectable fails for HID lights is not on the system yet as they are only adviseable. Doh!

But the actual tester manual on the system says nothing about if HID's are fitted it must have headlight levellers & washers.

Only that if they are fitted they must work or it will be a fail!!!

May catch some Sierra's out with the headlight washers & wipers.

Should be some money in them bits soon ;D
