I doubt it will be a problem since its only a starter ring. Other alternative would have been to cut the ring they weld to the flex plate for auto tranny for that engine... but its done anyway

Is your diff ratio similar to the BMW that box came from?

No but zf 6gear ratio 0.82 is fine my 3.73 diff. ;)

capri71

what was the diff ratio on the BMW?

puuhapete

I dont member Bmw diff ratio. ;) maybe 3.06?
Engine and gearbox adapter is this.
The center of the checkpoint that.

capri71

Er, the bit in the middle was to check alignment? and you'l cut it away? or am i being a thick as the plate you made it from? ;D

Yes, i cut then. No comments seconds question's.  ;D

puuhapete

I  welding to TIG the passenger side mounting. Is it any good?  ;)

and the mounting location on the engine.

Lowering engine about 30mm. it is better now in the intake manifold and the gearbox angle

Next, lift the package in the engine room, and build mounts

capri71

Pete, I think you are rushing to get this done for the summer. This Sierra/cyclone build isn't simple. I think you should slow down, let it be done when it is done and make it so that you don't have to ask us "is it ok?"

i think the sump looks ok... its just the mount that bothers me a bit!

I am really interested in following this and know you can do it properly if you weren't setting deadlines to get it done - keep on keeping on bro ;)

No, I did not come to ask you that whether it is ok. I'll do it this way and everyone can actually do better. ugh.
Some do, others are considering doing so, and the third is talking about it.

puuhapete

At all events, but I installed the engine in place. A tight fit was.

Next time,next feeling.

Thanks Lemon-Ade!
How knows, where we are next summer. But this curve today. Only boost 0,37 bar (turbo housing, plenum little low this)  Stock injectors, but fuelpressure is 4.0bar and FSE regulator 1.7X
No monster, but torque start fine.

Next bigger injectors, maybe RE85 fuel and boost.

capri v8 driver

The engine response very good to even low boost.

Oh wow Pete I will have to come back to this & read it all as I am just off to bed.

So glad you ditched that old 4.0L Cologne & gone for this.

I don't know anyone who has achieved great results with that old boat anchor but this new engine you have.

WOW! Awesome job mate.  :2tu:
Dave

Dave

Just gone through that lot from where I last saw it.

You have done a great job Pete, your machine work is always very good & I just know you're going to have better luck with this engine.

What turbo's have you gone for? & I guess there will be some internal mods planned soon.

However this engine will almost certainly out perform your old one as it is!
Dave

Thanks Dave!

Dave

Them pictures only make it look like the cars had a respray & some different wheels.

However we all know different! :o  :2tu:

It's been a well loved car!

Turbo's are big T3's then, wish you would go for something more modern mate but they should work O.K.
