like that idea alot but i would still be unsure the results were accurate.I've got a set of scales at work, seperate scales for each road wheel, we have to measure axle weights constantly when designing and building road sweepers before going to sva tests.will take my car down when i finished rebuild and corner weigh it myself for free!
as dave says use a weighbridge,if the weighbridge has alot of room round it then you can just stick on wheel on at a time.i have to do this on a regular basis due to my work van being a mobile workshop its easy to get it over the gvw and then big fines are to be expected.vosa stop vehicles all round the country and corner weigh lorries vans cars to see if there overloaded.my van can be under the gvw but be over on the rear axle

Yeah I agree the above method is not going to be spot on, it only gives you a idea.

The weigh bridge up the road from me only charges 3 quid for the public & it is calibrated to with-in 20kg each month.

Also alot of people have the proper corner scales, just ask people who track cars etc.
There is probably someone within a mile or two of you.

Most people into cars like to help for a token payment

I tend to guess my weight by how fast i need to be going to leave the road over the hump back on the Wolverhampton road by the fingerpost, heading TOWARDS Brownhills :D

I has to be the same direction tho, cause my fiesta left the road at 50 one way, but sierra at 40 the otherway
