i think a minker should be left as is mate
if you do all the stuff itll just look like a cossie wannabe
but it comes down to personnal choice in the end mate

my opinion? leave it looking like a standard xr4x4,, i have driven daves minker, the look on peoples faces when an old sierra blows past is unreal...no german supercar is safe

Clio 172
Subaru Impreza Turbo

turboshed

cant see any problem puting rs bodykit on aslong it was xr stuff, upgrade the brakes and sort some decent wheels out for it,get some decent air filters for it,try and locate the original ones like daves, apart from that keep it standard
xr4x4 twin dinky turbo, emerald k3 management,302bhp and 400ftlbs@21 psi

Super 12v

It's you car do whatever floats your boat, however I'd advise any changes you make make sure you can easily revert to how it was prior if you are concern with re-sale value and keep all original parts

Hi mate

Well from talking to people who have the money to buy a Minker & have offered me money for my car in the past I would say:

Interior mods are of little concern. Minker's where basically bogo interior's anyway unless something else was ordered.
As long as it's done nice & suits the car it's not going to drop it's value.
Keep the flocked part's thou either store or keep fitted.

Body wise is tricky as most people would like to see the car as almost STD looking if a 323

Engine wise a fair bit can be done that won't make it look any different that will give it more go.
Yours already has had some bits messed with.
Engine needs to look as TT intended.
Air filter tops Alan did have as he gave me some, also I think I know where some are in a garage.

What I would say is mod the gearbox as I have done.
The petrol savings are worth it alone & alot of people think Minker's had a better 5th anyway

I would agree that the wheels are a night mare & need to be replaced.

Must be set of 5.

People for some reason remember they had Bottger alloys so really you need to source some.
But TT would have fitted any alloy you asked for but people think Bottger is a must.

Bottger 7 spoke 7Jx15H2 ET26 was what the press 323 had, ultra rare & will be almost impossible to get.
I do know where the spare alloy of the old press car is thou if needed.

Bottger 9 spoke 7Jx15H2 ET26 where fitted to loads of TT cars including the Minkers. Mine has them, press K1 has them with a fancy paint job.
Very good chance of getting these mate.

Ford Motorsport 7 spoke 7JX15H2 ET28 where fitted to the last few TT Sierra's as TT couldn't get the Bottger 7 spoke anymore.
Look almost the same as the Bottger 323 wheels. Good chance of finding these too & is a TT fitted alloy.
I have a set for track use.

To sum up it's your car so do what you want but if you want to recover your investment do it in a way that the car can be restored to as TT intended.

That's what I have done with mine.

Just had a quick look for you & these came up.

You see you have to be creative when searching for rare stuff

I know the PCD is right but check the off set.

Only 3 & caps missing but a start.

Caps are the same as the Ford alloys above & others so no big deal.

cheers folks and thanks for the replies!!
decided to keep her as she is for now apart from the ghastly black momos! i aint rascist but in my eyes black and white shouldnt mix.
i wouldnt mind buying a set of the original air boxes for her.
looking like its going to be a set of seven spokes for her. contemplating running her on 16s and raising the profile a tad.
only mod for now is to upgrade the radio.
looking forward to getting her out there to the shows as its something i have always wanted to do
see you all soon

gazfromoldham

hi dave
thank you for the reply
do you fancy selling your spare track wheels ?

Dave

No Gaz.

Minkers are hard on tyres.

I went through 2 sets last year, also this year I intend to run 205/55- 15 for the road & 205/50-15 for the track, so I need 2 sets.

Only the Bottger 7 spoke are hard to get, others pop up on ebay now & then.

Ask Alan Jeffries if he has any airboxes left.

If not send us a email.
