Tony - the sh*t bags all know about it (it's on underground car crime webrings and is being used in vast numbers of situations) - what they were hoping to do was educate the public to CHECK their car actually locked - i.e. look for the flasher feedback and if possible check by pulling the door handle. Thing is, insurance companies WILL NOT pay out if they believe you left the car unlocked and you lose its contents. No damage visible, no broken glass and they assume YOU left it unlocked.

They misquoted the fob thing about the Mondeo - the early mondeo infrared fobs were rolling code (hence if the battery went flat you had to re-synchronise it to the car) when all others (Rover, Peugeot etc) were fixed code which you could capture with a Casio IR wrist watch or an intelligent "learning" TV remote control.

LMAO some people believe anything!! Still get people call us at work saying their van was broken into and all their 10 grand of uninsured tools nicked and there was a half tennis ball near the van so would we go halves with them on new tools!!! Gotta hand it to them for having the balls to be cheeky!
