i am already measuring the engine bay off my capri to see if the "new" engine will fit.

but i have a bad feeling the "new" engine is a little bit to big for the capri's engine bay.

at least there where no people hurt in this accedent.

Didn't a guy strap one of these to his pick up in the US a while ago and test drove it on the highway - all they found were the jeep tracks leaving the road and nothing else - about half a mile away they found the remains of the jeep - not much left of the guy though

mouldytbags

yep.they could only identify the remains from fragments of his teeth in the steering wheel!

Numpty

I think they were booster rockets used for take-off, hence you can't turn them off...!

He made the "Darwin awards" & there is a clip of a reconstruction made for the film of the same name.

Found this:-http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1995-04.html]Jet%20Assisted%20Take-Off

the story i heard was that it was an old impala and they used JATO cannisters (jet assisted take off) which are small solid rocket boosters. anyway, it goes that they only could identify the car by the emblem on the steering wheel that was embedded in the side of the mountain he hit.

edit: just went back and read the article posted above, apparently my memory is better than i thought, lol.

LOL Tony my laptop's a bit temperamental like that - wonder if PC World supplied BAA? LOL.

Tony

hhmmmmmm
well i guess its good PR to get rolls royce looking at the engines, but in real terms,,there is no way both engines failed at the same time,, same applies to the fuel systems and the computers that run them,, they have redundanceys for that event,,,,,,,,,,

If it started in South Africa, and it ran out of fuel. They'd at least be able to say the fuel was stolen while taxing to the run way as that aint impossible over there. LOL

zane, your ok.

in my imagination, i can see a few people, while running after the plane, whit jerrycans and some hose, trying to suck the tanks dry, while the plane is taxing on the runway
