right the background then the question < ive got a 1.6 pinto estate sierra and a two ltr disc all round granny will the diff fit in the sierra as first gear is so bloody short ?

robrs2

Yes and no.

The diffs are both 7" so it will fit, but the granada has bolt on driveshafts the sierra will have push in.

Marty knows how to make the hybrid rear, bolt on shafts with discs.

Marty

Check out the ratios 1st, the 1.6 diff might be worse than the one you have!!!!!

on the fsoc theres a chart that tells whats what with the diff ratios (dont know who submitted it )it should be a 3.62on the granny compared with a 3.93 on the estate:)  but if it wont fit on what do i need to do to make it fit ? buy a really big hammer and clout it in to submission ?

Marty

Just a matter of taking the drive flanges off the 2.0 diff  then it will fit the Sierra
