i'm trying to get all the parts together to put a tune up on my 3 door cossie. i can find the plugs, cap, rotor, HT leads, but i can't find anywhere that sells the coil lead. where do the rest of you get them from? is it a secret?

any help would be great.

tried burtonpower, ordered a cap and rotor from them last night. they have the HT leads but without the coil lead.

Tried Ebay?

BTW, for what engine?

I have a M8 that can make leads to order and quite well priced too, he ship world-wide also

Heres some I had made up when I had an 8V DOHC
If you like I can give you his number/e-mail addy?

yeah that would be great.

it's  for a 1986 yb 2.0 16v turbo red top. standard engine in the 3 door cossies.

yeah tried ebay. but i don't know if i got the terminology right. i know what i call spark plug wires, you all call high tension leads. so i don't know if you call the coil wire a coil lead or something else.

Burtons are showing magnecor Coil Leads for Cosworths as a seperate item

where'd you find them? i couldn't find coil leads  anywhere on their site. what category are they under?

ok, i found them. so the essex 3.0 uses the same coil wire as the cossie yb?

xr4man

is there a specific size i should use for a stock ignition system? or can i just go with the 10mm ones and still be ok?

Taps

So why is the Cos any different to any other car, coil lead comes in the spark plug lead set normally

xr4man

i don't know why it's different than any other car. but every single ht lead set i've found specifically says it doesn't come with the coil wire. i don't understand it either. but on the other hand it is nice to be able to get the coil lead (now that i found them) for 20 to 40 USD as opposed to having to buy the whole set for 200 to 300 USD.

this whole money conversion really sucks on my end.

so anyway, does anyone know whether i should get the 8mm, 8.5mm, or the 10mm wire? is there any reliability or drivability issues that would come or go depending on wire size? would i get a stronger spark from a 10mm wire opposed to the 8mm wire?
