This ECU is the most basic ford ECU you can get.

The loom in the orange circle hold the wiring for 12v, earth, rpm, oil pressure light, ect.

If the ECU goes in a car that did not had a fuel injection system you need to add relays for the 12v feed, lambda's and fuel pump.

thank you for your reply.
just one more long set of questions. ;D if you can help?
where do the orange circled wires go? and do I need  the second harness with the red plug?
or is there an earlier model ecu that runs just the engine. thank you.
its going into an mk2 1.6 pinto that has only basic wiring.

The second picture shows the engine coolant sensor. Very important sensor.

The picture of the wiring harnas seems to be correct. You do need to check the earth and power feed connections with a ohm meter to confirm it.

The earth wires and the system earth use the same color coded wires however the system earth wires goes to the ECU not to earth. Keep that in mind.

The 8BLB ecu is a later '92 > '94 2.9 v6 without the air meters but they can have 1 or 2 lambda sensors.

The last picture is the PCV hose with the solenoid.

This can help you: https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/12vlooms.htm

General Discussion / 2.9 ECU-IV wiring help
Last post by greek79 - March 26, 2023, 08:33:56
Putting a 2.9 in a capri mk2.  I have these wires and ecu, which I'm not sure what car they come out of and I'm trying to figure where the wires go and what else I need to get the motor running.
I have everything needed to put a carb on it, even have a converted dizzy and since I live in a remote area the thought keeps coming back.
The truth though is I want to keep the motor as is and any help will be more than welcomed.

Last but not least I want to thank the moderators who solved my problem of not been able to post photos.  Thank you

Quote from: Jaanus on January 17, 2023, 22:07:25 As i said, pretty much all the double/triple layered joint has rust between the layers

Always difficult to protect it from rust. It looks like you are making big steps now.
