Id never say never,if i was offerred something that took my fancy plus cash id be tempted to start something new.
heres the new style wastegate thats gone on. its an "ultragate 38" made by turbo sport. all seems well made but until its tried i cant say anything about it. its lighter and smaller than most wastegates too so its less weight hanging off the manifold and more room for me to work around too. i made the exit flange at work yesterday and will try to fit it over the weekend if possible. ill refit the crossover pipe too and if theres time,i'll fit the new oil presure gauge oil feed line too as mine seems to be weeping.

got it all pumbed in and have bought propper clips too. flexi pipe is quite bendy but after a quick prodding its gonna be interesting to see how i can vent the gasses out the engine bay without getting in the way of something else.............................

forgot I was on this site........................
been a few moves in the right direction since last post

new wastegate worked ,screamer pipe run behind the down pipe and out under the ns wing.
I put the standard rear box on due to the noise and trundled off to ht racing with some friends.
still dripping oil and with self undoing rocker cover nuts we watched as the guys there got some diddy ramps out for me so I could get onto the rollers.
the old girl managed an improved power than before and made a healthy 152 bhp at the rear wheels and 176lbs of torque at the tyres too.
the rear exhaust wasn't helping and was choking the old girl so has now been swapped out for something a little "breathier" ;)

??? I added a youtube link but it doesn't show so no vids then

anyway..............
turbo seems to run damn sweet now its got a free flowing exhaust and revs up real nice. annoyingly the "shroom" filter noise was so loud on boost it had to go.
while I wanted it all nice and empty in the bay,i also wanted to release anything else power wise that I could scavenge.
the turbo was wrapped ,the viscous fan came off and new fuel filters added. the fuel pump will get a stronger power supply and a kenlowe is now sat on the rad. there a janspeed boost gauge on the dash, four point harnesses, shift light, all red dash inc clock and a reworked engine bay. the single fair filter is now a pair and theyre on the drivers side of the engine bay and the breather system has been changed a tad.
but while I was playing I thought do the lot. rocker covers and hard pipe were powder coated, coild and dizzy cap were colour coded, janspeed decals now adorn the front wings instead of the old bp shields. the lower front spot lights are off,the hella grille is out and the gl one put back in. ive made up a simple, ally bracket for the engine bay extras and after a few emails ...................................we have NOS. oil leak (I hope) has been traced back to an ill fitting inlet manifold gasket which hopefully is now sorted.the nos kit is from the states and is a basic two pipes into one fogger  nozzle set up. boots been recarpetted and the bottles in the boot. small brack made and painted to hold the solenoids and a few other little bits and we seem good. still in the process of swapping out the cracking fuel lines but I needed to t- into one for the petrol solenoids feed. as it stands im jetted for the lowest "at the tyres horsepower" as I don't want to be sat next to a bust car on the drag strip.
im hoping the mods minus the NOS will see 160 bhp at the rear wheels........gotta be optimistic... :-
the NOS is set at 50 extra horses so we will have to wait and see.
hers some updated pics.there are a couple in this months retro cars readers rides bit

mk2 cossie

Have you used up all the nos yet Limey?  ;D
