Now in its 15th year, this years European Ford Event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The XR/RS-club of Holland will once again be holding their huge XR/RS-show on September 10th 2006.

After several successful years at Baarlo Speedway Track, and at Sevenum, both near Venlo, the show moved south in 1999 to the large Sports Stadium at Landgraaf.

The Show

This years show shall be highlighted with the 30 years of Fiesta car's. Nice display will be seen on Parc Ferme where all type's off Fiesta will be showed

There is usually an attendance of over 3000 vehicles, with Ford clubs from all over Europe, and it is an opportunity to see all the stuff you have never seen before. RS2600Ã,,Ã,,žÃ,s, 2-door Sierra XR, Taunus, German Spec RS1600iÃ,,Ã,,žÃ,s, etc, etc. Dutch insurance rules allow any modification except bhp at no extra cost, so they are into customizing / modifications in a big way. UK Fords have taken many of the honors in the concours, so if you have a tidy motor, get it entered. They prefer totally original, even with the odd scratch, rather than mint but restored. And you donÃ,,Ã,,žÃ,t need the RSOC logbook. The XR/RS-club traditionally run sprint events down the track all day. Anyone can participate. Especially the sprint-races are favoured by all Ford-fans and are a guarantee for a lot of spectacle and quite a few embarrased drivers ... !

With the meeting being a 1-day event, the Saturday is normally "Nurburgring-Day" for the RSOC-members who come over to Holland for the weekend.

This legendary circuit (over 14 miles long) is just a one hour drive away from Landgraaf.

The XR owners club shall be there like every year and shall display there selfs on the Club-Lane!

hey rob,

yes , a very good show , seen alote, talked alote, buy alote ( and hurt my wallet alote ) and picked up some good idea's for my capri's. first idea: make sure my trottle does not get stuck, like the blue capri whit the bmw m3 engine. i talked to the person later , and he already had bought most off the parts needed to rebuild the capri. but still its a shame that it happend.

nice to see and talk whit you and al the other's that came whit you to the show.  thank god we did not have bad weather like last year. next time i will use more sun creme, because i had a bad sun burn at the end off the day.

greetz and hope to see you al next year,

paul.

Real real shame about the blue capri, didnt know it was M3 engine'd. Was certainly one of the quicker cars  I've caught the guy on film when he first leave's the car. God is he pissed!!! I'm still not entirely sure what happened as I was looking through a camera lense  I'm glad it's being repaired, I really hope he comes back next year.

My wallet was pretty much untouched, all I left with was a brand new RS rear apron for my hatch  and that was only 40 euro's

Was the Ring open in the morning as I was under the impression on the Sat it was only open for a few hours in the afternoon. As I went Sat and Mon evening as the track was advertised as being shut for the rest of the day.

hello rob,

as far if i can see on there site : they are only open for a few houres during the day, but for the next time you go to the ring, here is the site http://www.nuerburgring.de/]http://www.nuerburgring.de/

than you can see when they are open for public, so you don't drive for nothing.

i think the capri whit the m3 engine will be back next year and whit some luck i will bring my capri v8 as well, i only hope the track will be longer than 100 meters. next week the capri v8 will go for it's mot, than i can drive it around again (if my wallet is'nt sucked dry by the fuel bill off the v8 that is) .

Yeah I was there, I only saw you running in the sprints no where else i'm afraid. Saw Paul and his friend when they came to the club lane and also I collared him later on as he passed me while I was filming. I spent a large portion of the afternoon either filming, or helping Squeak with his. I honestly dont recall seeing you anywhere other than in the sprint.

Rob

That's too bad mate.

I would've loved to talk to you.
