Anyone heard of a guy called Nigel Habgood, he has a company in vancouver, british Columbia called North American Cosworth Specialists

here is an email from another forum about him

Draken was started by Nigel Habgood, a Brit living in Vancouver.  He is
very good at tuning and building these cars.  He also works as a
"vehicle coordinator" for movie and TV productions in the Vancouver area
(which is a lot) and supplies vehicles of all types, especially police
cars, for such productions.  All the police cars in "Smallville" came
from his shop.  You can see him in some "X Files" episodes, usually
riding in the helicopter.  He definitely has a corner on the Cosworth
trade, at least in the NW.  He imports complete Escort shells (new) and
finishes them to whatever standard you want.  I have been in his shop
several times and I am always impressed.

But Nigel is a serious high end tuner and probably not interested in
dealing with guys looking for some kind of cheap upgrades.  His stuff is
good, real race quality and appropriately priced (expensive).  A
complete Cosworth Escort is probably going to cost over $30,000 but you
need to ask them for a real quote.  His customers in BC tend to spend a
lot of money on their cars.

Thanks

Chris

i've heard good and bad about him. i've heard of people having no problems and then others that have been ripped off and warn everyone else to be careful when dealing with him. these are all just things i have heard and have not dealt with draken personally myself. so take it as you will.

i made an error. i got the scoop from a dude that knows these guys.

"Draken is gone guys!

Daz and Mike from the UK bought out everythig Draken had and started their own shop up.

They just started out so please keep an open mind.

Daz has 15 years of working on cossies

Keep in mind this is one of the only guys in canada and maybe even the US that specializes in cossies.

Say what you will but i think they are doing a hell of a job."

hope that tells you what you wanna know.

So, are you saying that Nigel is no longer involved, or just that the old Draken company is now North American Cosworth Specialists

it sounds to me like nigel is not there anymore. that it's basically draken but with new owners.

that's what i'm getting from the above statement.

Hmmm......

Could be a reason for that, who knows?

hey guys, nacs just posted an intro on merkursport and explained the relationship between draken and nacs.

here's their post

"Hi Guys, Just reading through your forum here so i thought i'd make ourselves presented, firstly we do have a web site up now

www.northamericancosworthspecialists.com

Check it out

Secondly, Draken as it was with the Cosworth side of things is nothing to do with us, we have basically taken the Cosworth side of the Company, bought the stock and added a lot lot more ! we do still have a very good relationship with Nigel who is a truly nice guy ,weve made a lot of changes. were planning an open day too if anyone would like to drop by with thier cars, date to be arranged ! It would be great to meet some of you chaps and see what youv'e been doing with your cars.

We have produced an RS500 kit that is meant to fit the Merkur as the 3dr cossie kit differs in many ways, so basically we fixed that so you guys get an easier life when fiting them to your pride and Joy !

Weve just listed on ebay a package deal on both rear spoilers if your interested plus a lot of other items too !

we are always happy to help out any way we can with you guys on kit advice etc or drive train etc

I don't get a lot of time to look on forums often, but thought it polite to say Hi to the Merkur community and to add i think what you guys have done with your cars here is outstanding.

Best regards to all

Well. if they can do shipping across the border without too much problem, then it might be a great source of parts.

I need a set of front Cossie shocks, and none of the regular suppliers were able to get them. I will have to contact them and see what they can do.
