I completed my track car in the spring 2006 was great fun but really needed more power,
I found a granada cosworth very cheap near me so I could do the usual swap which should provide enough power to keep me happy for this year

this is my track car

this was the donor granada

started the removing the engine this week,

front panel cut off to make it easier

It's coming out!!

she's out!!!

got the engine out yesterday, next week I will remove the running gear from the sierra, will update with more as I go on

started to remove the engine/box from the sierra today, I have the benifit of a 4 poster in the unit so it makes working under it very easy!

Exhaust removed

after doing most of the work required underneath (prop removed etc) I started in the engine bay

removed the rad and leccy fan to make more space and reduce the risk of damaging it.

this is how I left it tonight, will remove the engine tommorrow hopefully.

Got the engine out today had  a couple of problems but it's out

jacked it up as high as I could to make life easier

dropped out to the floor

problem number 1 In my haste I forgot to disconnect the lower heater pipe so as the engine dropped down it snapped the pipe off doh!!!

engine bay is good with no rust does need a bufty clean tho!

removed the engine from the x member and found 1 engine mount  knackered I do have a spare tho..

had problem no2 when I removed the front diff yet again in my haste I had forgotton to drain the sump and dropped the full contents of the sump on me and the floor!!

this is how I left it tonight getting there!

Finally got the engine into the car, went in fairly easy in the end, so might see it complete and running in the next few weeks, fitted the new fuel lines under the car first and also ran the new engine harness into the car before the big lift.

steve

well a quick update, over the last couple of weeks I have fitted all the ancillaries to the engine in preparation to start it up.
sorted out the wiring and was ready to give it a go..
turned over on the starter.... and fook all happened

to cut a long story short tonight I finally got it to run

had a few wiring issues but a big thanks to "mark 24v wiring" on "Passion Ford" who spent hours on the phone to me working through the wiring.
cheers m8 much apprieciated
just need to sort the exhausts out now and a few bits to tidy up then it's ready for testing..
