--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well its the worst i've seen a j reg sierra, but turboshed to the rescue!
i'm gonna need a workshop soon, mines geting head rebuild and geoffs car needs the n/s sill sorting,it's already had some crap previous atempts by the previos owner but you can't cover up rust and hope that the rust fairy will take it away.

gonna weld it up sunday lets hope it does'nt bloody rain!!!

a bit of progress today, had to loose section of floor pan and the seat mounting point was just to far gone, got the new sill and popped round the corner an delved around the engineering shops scrap metal bin and found lots of plate.....perfect

cut all the rust out

cut a section out of a doner vehichle

removed the seat point bracket

cleaned up a treat

paint with weld thru primer ready to plug weld

cut out the old seat point and floor pan section

try it for size just got to replace the section of floor pan then plugweld the seat point back on,i tried everywhere i know to get floorpan sections to no avail,so if your scraping a sierra remove these and keep them, they will come in very handy later.
its all about the prep work welding should only take an hour

well could'nt finish today due to the bloody rain but have done all the welding needed from inside the car, just got to cut in a new bit of sill.
mig welder buggered up and now i have no control of the wire speed which meant i had to up the amps to cope so the welds are not the prettiest in the world but they do the job! :D

will try and finish it tommorow if i get back from work early enough......o and if its not pissing it down!

well finished the n/s just got to plate up the o/s and she's ready for the mot
I've not spent anytime making it look pretty as i've got so much to do with my own car, maybe later after mot i can grind all the welds back on the sill

i've got a donor vehichle which has been waxoiled and has never been welded, should off just transfered all the running gear across, would of been easier!

well geuss what..........i've finished it, 2.5 kg's of mig wire later, mot tommorow so should pass if not i will drive over the tester.
now to concentrate all my efforts back onto my own car and hopefully stop breaking stuff!

well it past the mot today, thank fook for that, and my bro should,nt fall thru the floorpan now!
had a right struggle with my mig.the speed dial is shagged out so i had full speed on the wire so i had to max the amps to be able to weld, which was fun
