Rob, I did come over to say hi to you and Tony, but you had gone walkies.

Got my first ever look at a Minker K1 too.

Owain

Think it should read, "thankyou, to yourself and tony", glad ya got home ok, i started to have a little kip on the A1 so pulled in at the services, after showing the prick in the rover that there are more than one lane and to stop the "progression of traffic" along with some uniformly recognised hand gestures, once in the services the car yet again refused to start, now know it is most definatley my starter motor thats fooked, along with my back and my shoulder pushing my car across the car park pmsl. Had an excellent day, was nice meeting you all.

Owain.

Tony

well that was by far the best day ever, only clouded by taps missfortune with his gearbox, but i can only guess he made it home ok! couldnt call as my mobile battery was flat (due to all the calls first thing...

i was very pleased with our turnout and dispite the right old cockup it worked out ok in the end. the stand was really good, large enough again this year and we had the best day this year i think.wwoow it was hot,

i have to say what took me back was geoff kershaw and his car, i really found him very interested in most our projects, he gave some very good input  and he also seemed to enjoy his time with us!
(what other stand has ever had this?)
his car he allowed us to show for the day was a scorpio estate,,
but no every day scorpio estate
it had been converted to 4 wheel drive, had a BOA engine with twin turbo's. at this time the power was dialed back for MOT but i was informed this engine would be able to produce 500bhp...wwooowww
what a good job of that he has done of that...

Glad to hear you had a good day, wasnt able to make it down in end due to wife had to go into hospital friday night after hurting leg ahd to pick her up from hospital today.  Look forward to seeing some show pics

Dave

Yeah hope everyone got home O.K.

Thanks to Taps & Tony.

These events are headaches at the best of times but what Ford Fair did to us took the piss.
You two managed to sort it all out & I think a good day was had by all + the weather was amazing
Thankyou both.

Found out why I couldn't stay on the track, I had a brake fluid leak on the pipe join.
Only squirted when I hit the brakes hard which of course was just before every corner covering the front wheel & taking out the rear.

Luckily no damage.

Did a 4.43 on the 0-60 run.
& averaged 22mpg for the whole day
Dave

Got back about 45 mins ago.. ( 8:30 ) which is not bad 4hrs... And MPG was 29.9!!!

Was a super day, I did not have any trouble at the gate?

Nice to finaly put faces to names I have known for so long..

Sadly it's the llast yourney the scorp will be doing for a while

But hopefully the sapph will be ready way before this time next year..

cheers to tony and taps for organising, was good to put names to faces even though i did'nt get to meet all of ya because i was parked up most of the day doing 0-60 had a greatday even though my car was underperforming with a crappy fuel pump,it did make laugh though when my best time was 5.14 so i stripped the car and filled jurgen's boot and tried again and got a 5.34!
took me a while to get home due to the m40 being shagged,it was a shame as there where loads of cossies all caught up in the traffic and i could'nt race em!
was great to meet Geoff at last as i've spoke with him numerous times and i'm sure there's a filing cabanet with my name on a tt...full of receipts!

DAVE.....dam good job you did'nt do that 3rd session then bud

I just missed Geoff, his car rocks mind, nice and subtle but obviously something a bit fruity, liked seeing 3 of the six remaining minkers, couldn't stay longer and got dragged away plus it took me ages to find you guys - should have car working and be able to show with you next time around!!!

sutmut

hi to all,  wot a day i have never seen so meny fords in one pleace...... i've not been on here in a bit cos i now drive a mazda (sorry) but seeing all them fords has made me want to get my estate back on the road.
me and ford girl did pop over to see fluff and see all your cars, thanks for them bits by the way they are a big help, with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work i will have my estate back on the road for next year....

Dave

Yeah I think it was a wise move Gray.
I actually lost my front brakes on the way home for a bit then they started working again!
All fixed now.

I really had a great time on the show.
(need to bring a lot more drinks next year...)

I should have filmed a bit more, but i did manage to get the runs from the blue XR4x4 twin turbo, the green 24v automatic and MOB`s car.

see attachments..

I can make better ones if someone needs them, but the filesize will be huge then

Also i would like to thank Madoldbugger for letting me stay @ his house for a few days

Does anyone know just how much the White Minker was up for sale for?

"Well if I only get 5k, then it has to go. Just has to be to the right person"

end quote.

TT

One of those problems, it's so rare. But if peeps want a fast sierra they will spend 5k on a Cossy.

It's worth far more than 5k, but not many peeps will be interested. if I had that spare doing nowt then it woul d be in my garage..

Could only see a couple of blemishes that would be easily and cheaply sorted.

Lovely car.

But enjoyed myself and again i cant wait for next year to role in.  Hope everyone else got home ok!

Roger offered it to me for 5k but it does need some work, probably overhauling.if i had 5k i would'nt buy it for that, probably a little bit less due to work involved in overhauling these cars.
anybody wants to contact roger then pm me as i have his number.
i've spent 7k on mine since i've had it,i wish he was selling 2 years ago,i would of bit his hand off, mines more of track car than road but rogers minker has the nice diffs etc.
the car looks solid enough to bring it back to 100%
yes the car is rare but in a very small niche market
Roger did say he would only sell to someone who will look after it..and i got the impression he meant it

I got the feeling he did not need the cash  hence the sale was less about money and more about the right owner. But obviously he's not going to give it away.

I do prefere his wheels to the standard minker ones though

On Ford Fair I hear first time the word "Minker" can somebody tell me what does it mean?
