hello rob,

in 2002 i used my light blue capri v8 whit a rover v8 for the sprint, and yes it was not as slow as i tought. but the red capri whit the 5.0 v8 on nitro was even faster.

in 2003, i use the dark blue capri v8. i did a run. but the track was to short whit 100 meters. the capri v8 stood at the stand from classic ford the rest off the day, whitch asked me to come. together whit a other the light blue capri v8, witch was now my ex capri v8. i sold that capri a year earlyer, 1 week after that 2002 show.

in 2004, i did a few runs whit the black capri 24v, but i had not much grip, even lauching in 2e gear only resulted in a 8,57 sec time.

after that i never drove the sprint again at efe landgraaf.  if the track woud be longer and has more grip, i woud be very tempted.........

Hi Paul, Yeah i remember the nitro capri really quick both cars, and takin 1st and 2nd iirc, I think squeak came 3rd that year.

So have they changed the length much over the years? as I cant say i noticed although i know it's short, just enough for me to get into 3rd for a little bit.

The best year for me is when I came 4th but pulled out (snapped alternater belt) when i was meant to face the focus RS (which to be fair was quicker anyway).

Have to say it is an event the 4x4's do well at. I think i'd like to have a go at the slalom, did it once the first or 2nd year i went but we got the cone order all wrong. have tried it since. a much harder comp that once, I think my 4x4 would launch itself at the cones :D

Still I shall be there again this but minus the 4be  aint had the $$ nor time to needed to map it. although i've not too much work until finished. have got rid of the nice silver ducting now tho :D install has changed alot, hopefully resolving alot of the issue i previously had.

i dont know witch place i had back then whit the rover powered capri. i went home before the sprinting finished, because it started to rain't pretty hard. it's a shame the red nitro capri is not being used anymore. that capri was a suprice, no one knew it was that fast.

the lenght off the track is still the same, 100 meters. they can easy make a 200 meter track. but they dont want to do that. as for driving the capri v8 there on that track, i just can shift it into 2e gear. its to short.

Been a Fab day, I have found out I need an engine oil cooler.

2 laps of the ring & its hitting 150c also 150mph for 10mins has the same effect

700 miles done & all is good

i did, for some reason missed you at efe, jurgen.

i did had the chance to talk to turboshed, dave, rob and a few other people. and see there car's. it was nice to finally meet you all.

next year i must, i will, bring at least one v8 powerd capri to efe. even iff it means i have to push one all the way to efe. it really hurt not being there whit at least one capri v8.

turboshed, it was cool to see that even on 5 cilinder's, the car was still very fast, i hope you made it home.

as soon as the picture's are online, i will post the link.

dave , maybe its a good idea, to put those movie's you made during the sprint, on this forum.

Yeah nice to meet you Paul & everyone else.

1186 miles is my total distance

The ring is fab really enjoyed that.

The show was a great follow on & I think I came 5th overall in the sprints with 7.3

I know now I defo need an engine oil cooler

Other than that the car was faultless really.

Will be working out me mpg, posting a ring video & of course a show video including the sprints.

I do hope Turboshed makes it back. He deserve some good luck.

Here is abit of a taster.

Had a great battle with this Cossie.

First up he ran 1.6 bar, I ran 1 bar & he beat me by the length of his front wing.

In the finals I got rid of about 70kg or so & upto 1.1bar only to find he had gone upto 1.8 bar

So he again just beat me.

It's MOB's & Taps call but I doubt Fordpower will do anything more than Fordfair.

That is a complete nightmare to sort out as it is.

With a bit of luck I may well have a 24V TT there next year going for 1st on the sprint.

Will drag Tony along as well

Just worked out my MPG for the whole thing.

1186 miles & 207 litres of fuel make an average of 26mpg

Not bad for an old v6 is it & yes that includes the ring, sprints, 150mph autoban the lot.
