LOL I think Fluff regrets typing that!

I made my loom back up from a box of spaghetti in 3 hours including sorting out the wheat from the chaff - lol you saw what a mess it was in as the last owner had stripped off all the insulation and then tried to knit a jumper with it by the looks of it. In that 3 hours I had loomed it back up with non essentials removed. I used a grommet from a 2.9 body loom to pass the wiring through and put it in the "Cossie position" beneath the battery tray - run the wires along with the original body loom and clipped onto the engine / ancillary items as I went. Only took 10 mins to install the loom really, and another hour or so with laughs, jokes and cups of tea to complete the wiring in of the power hold relay, fuel pump relay mods in the 4i loom to run off the EEC control for prime & run and then I integrated the Mk 2 in-tank pump wiring to the Mk 1 4i loom in the boot.

Next job - get the 'zorst' sorted....

More updates.

Pic of the 57i induction kit installed...

Entire engine bay thus far (strut brace not bolted in yet)...

2wd Cossie 4 pots and discs - hub mounting lugs tapped M12 x 1.5 and Cossie calipers mounted up behind 1.5mm thick spacers. Just need a few mm thick spacers to allow the wheels to fit without touching the caliper now :-(

Brake pipes and flexi's next to be installed along with 4x4 Cossie vented rear discs & calipers.

Simon 3 door

She's all 4 wheels on the floor now - moved over a bit to make way for Fluff 2 or as I've dubbed it "Gaaaaahreeeeee" after the refugee hidden in Delboy & Rodney's lorry when they did their beer run to France.

Used 5mm wheel spacers on the fronts - still plenty of engagement of the wheel on the hub centre so no wheel wobble expected!! Might space the arse end out 5mm too - got 2 more spacers.

Owain

Nice wheels simon, has barry had a clearout in there

Got on tonight at Bazza's - we fitted the 4x4 Cossie rear brakes after a bit of fettling. We binned the backplates a) because they were only normal Sierra / Granada sized ones with an 85GB part number so were a wee bit snug on the Cossie vented rear discs
Bazza and I agreed that backplates were for road cars and girls

With the rim back on with a 5mm spacer (only because we also spaced the fronts) this is the view through the spokes of the wheel...

Viewed from the back of the wheel, this is what it looks like. May the love wee-wee start to flow!!!

Tomorrow it's connect up the hand brake cable, perch my arse on a crate and go for a spin up the lane!!

fluff

Looks good mate

you take your life in your hands - going down the lane with Coilovers - you'll reshape the roof with your head lo

LOL the Mrs just saw that and said "f*ck the size, it's the strength you wanna worry about" - charming - you can thank her yourself for that humiliating comment on Sunday! Charming - I can't even escape the abuse at home.

There is an old crate in Bazza's place but Dan calls it Fluff 2

Handbrake cable fitted - just need to wait until the front brake pipes are installed and the rear flexi's before we can get it to work!

I fitted the front pads and then tightened up the track rod end nuts. There wasn't much (probably .5mm) clearance between the dust covers of the track rod end and the disc, so I installed a cable tie around the dust cover to pull it's waistline in a smidge - got 2 to 3mm clearance now!

So - got the wheels back on, stuck a wheel & tyre on the floorpan as a temporary seat and drove her back and forward slowly in the workshop (no brakes!!!!). Bazza moved the car back after - here's the video clip of him driving the car...
