Here is my local track, infact it's about 10 miles from me.
On a good day I can just hear the cars going for it sat in my shed

It's near Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. A very old track with loads of history.

Check out the web site: http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/index.asp

Look for the RWYB days if you want to take your car down the strip.

Can get busy but usally O.K.

Costs at the mo is around £10 to get in & £20 to take your car down the track (as many times as you dare).
Also weekend deals avaiable.

A guy will check to see your car is safe & give you a number.
A helment is needed if you can hit 100mph before the end.
No passengers allowed.
You need your driving licence (Both parts)

Tell the people in the main hut your number after each run & get a print out of your run.

Check out this video to see what's it all about:

Well this is actually not too far for me at just over 100miles, santa pod is pretty much exactly the same difference.

Yeah I guess I am lucky, it's part of an old American airfield, infact there is 3 old airfields all with-in 10 miles of me that I can race up & down.

They also do the Bulldog bash on the Shakespeare drag track site:

& the Global Gathering Dance Weekend too:

Forgot to add that this means there is camping at the site for over 10,000 people, so a fair few car clubs go there the weekends.
