Great news for me folks as I have just received my (and might I add the only set so far) of Samco sport silicone hoses, so Just for everyone who needs them here is the first set off the production line.

Also on the project front I have had some engine mounts made by a well known polly bush manufacturer to try out and hopefully these will be going into production some time soon.
Here is a prototype mount which some of you will of no doubt seen at fordfair.

ShaunPC

Hi people just thought I would show you the hoses fitted to my donor engine and car.

Not quite fitted to the car as yet but the engine needs powder coating blue and then fitting to the shell below.

ShaunPC

Hello again everyone. I know I havn't shown you anything in the way of progress as to the rebuild as yet but I am still gathering my parts to get the whole lot together ready for the big push and the build up.

Just thought I would show you my new engine mounts that came this morning though.

Hey everyone

Sorry I havn't been on here to update things of late but I have been very busy with my new life with the future wife.
Things are moving forward nicely at the moment so I will start updating this post very soon. I do have 2 projects on the go at the moment and I am just in the process of sorting out the XR4x4 that I have got for my fiance.
I say sorting out but what I actually mean is modifying it so that it fits in with my other fast fords.
As soon as I have got some more up to date pics and info I will get it all on here.

TwinTurbo

Cool good luck,

any news on the iscv hose?

What's the name of the colour the car has? Which colour code?

JFB Tech

Looks like Smokestone to me, the code is M.  There are 3 shades, M1, M2 & M3.  Strangely, the ID plate on the car calls it Smokestone but the official Ford touch up is labelled Mitternacht Blau which translates as Midnight blue.

Of course if it isn't Smokestone then you can disregard the above drivel, just file it away until you get one that is.  I think it should be compulsory to have at least one.
Drive it like you mean it!

TwinTurbo

Smokestone Sapph.  Best colour ford made next to Imperial Blue

Smokestone is a Blue colour.

Have you already fitted that diff hanger? any rear ARB clearance issues? I've got a polybushes diff hanger as well but needs modding to clear the rear ARB. Most just grind a bit of the top bolt-head but I don't feel comfartable doing that.

Any price indication?

Hello mate, yes I fitted the bush to the car no problems at all.
The first incarnation of the bush was a bit of pig to fit but as I have been working alongside the company making these the feedback that I gave they have adjusted things to suit.
As yet I have no idea of pricing but should know what is what by the end of the week.
Out of curiosity have you been using cap head bolts or standard bolts to fit the bush as this may make a difference in clearance.

ShaunPC

O.k. folks I have pulled the sapphire from the garage and started up the rebuild
Here are a few taster pics of how the car is coming along.

Also another change of plan includes the fitment of AVO fully adjustable coilovers which you can't see in the pics.

Lookin' gud Shaun,

Will u be at Ford Fair this year ??

I'm hopin' the Puma will be done by then ;)

Cheers Dave
It's nice to be important but
It's more important to be nice

ShaunPC

Hi Dave, I am definitely aiming to get the car to fordfair this year and hopefully it will be running a few trick mods that nobody knows about at the moment.

I don't know whether you have noticed that I have been sorting out a main cap brace for my engine so that should give a few clues as to my main aim for the engine. I will get the pics up of what parts that I have got together for the conclusion of the build some time in the next week or so.
Have you got much left to do on the puma mate?

Cheers
Shaun

Just a few updates for you all as to what has been happening with my projects recently.
I know this isn't the best pic but its all I have for this part of the project

I have finaly got round to building my concrete sectional garage which measures 20' x 13.5' so now I have somewhere to play with my projects at home, I have been having to travel a 22 mile round to do anything on my sapphire but finaly it is home with me. :)
I have had to get it home as it was in the way at where it was stored so I have had a few rushed days with the car.
I have got round to fitting my hybrid 2.9 v6/ 2.5td Scorpio MT75 gearbox

onto the back of my 2.9 v6 Cosworth engine from my old sapphire

The engine has had all new ACL bearings fitted along with my own main cap brace

which has 12.9 bolts holding it all together.
I have fitted an Alcon 6 paddle clutch with heavy duty thrust bearing and dropped the engine into the bay on a 4x4 cosworth cross member which has uprated orange polly engine mounts in orange to follow my colour scheme

I now have my AVO coilovers fitted on the car and fitted orange polly bushes everywhere except on the trailing arms.

I have fitted the uprated diff and gearbox mounts

mechanicaly thats the lot for the moment but work hasn't stopped there :)
I have done the bulkhead modification for the air con system and tidied up where it had to be cut out to fit

I have tempararily fitted my 4x4 cosworth bonnet and front bumper and this is how it stands at the moment,

Hope you all like the progress. :)

Lemon-Ade

Thats looking good  ;) mate, I take it by the cap brace and clutch it will be getting a bit of boost?

Run in ......

ShaunPC

Thanks Ade, it will hopefully be getting quite a bit of power in the future as I am going for full sequential injection with wideband lambda control too.  ;)
