Now in its 15th year, this years European Ford Event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The XR/RS-club of Holland will once again be holding their huge XR/RS-show on September 14th 2008.

After several successful years at Baarlo Speedway Track, and at Sevenum, both near Venlo, the show moved south in 1999 to the large Sports Stadium at Landgraaf.


The Show

There is usually an attendance of over 3000 vehicles, with Ford clubs from all over Europe, and it is an opportunity to see all the stuff you have never seen before. RS2600Ã,,Ã,,žÃ,s, 2-door Sierra XR, Taunus, German Spec RS1600iÃ,,Ã,,žÃ,s, etc, etc. Dutch insurance rules allow any modification except bhp at no extra cost, so they are into customizing / modifications in a big way. UK Fords have taken many of the honors in the concours, so if you have a tidy motor, get it entered. They prefer totally original, even with the odd scratch, rather than mint but restored. And you donÃ,,Ã,,žÃ,t need the RSOC logbook. The XR/RS-club traditionally run sprint events down the track all day. Anyone can participate. Especially the sprint-races are favoured by all Ford-fans and are a guarantee for a lot of spectacle and quite a few embarrased drivers ... !


With the meeting being a 1-day event, the Saturday is normally "Nurburgring-Day" for the RSOC-members who come over to Holland for the weekend.

This legendary circuit (over 14 miles long) is just a one hour drive away from Landgraaf.

The XR owners club shall be there like every year and shall display there selfs on the Club-Lane!

It's up and running.

Got a new IC for it and changing the thottle again and fitting a bypass.

Have to get this done before getting it remapped, othwerwise it won't be reliable.

Will be bringing the RST or my bro's Mondeo.

Well, my mondeo is quite easy to spot..
It`s the dark blue one with the Garfield puppets and matching license plate in the rear window  

(it we need it, could well be we are going with my bro`s rs..)

Let`s see if i can find the fordpower shirt in time..

damm, its a long time ago that i saw the sun come up at a sunday morming. i must say, it really hurts. people declare me mental ill now, certainly now some people have seen me, wash and clean the capri at 6.00 in the morning, in the dark.

i also want to thank the XR owners club soutern branch, for there hospitality, fun and laughs. and all the others i spoke, like fordrwd4ever and many others.

and whit all that talking and having fun, i only saw have off all the cars there, but there is always next year.

turboshed and super 12v congrates for making it into the final 8 off the sprint.

i hope to see you all next year and i also hope that the organisation does beter whit the sprint next year.

No it was very close, but he finished second in the third run.
It was very close tho.

henri got disqualified in the last run, he left when the flag was halve way down, so rob took the win. there is even a topic about it on a dutch forum about the false start henri did in the last run.

Looked quick... and yeah you could see the other fella jump the gun (flag) by a mile. WELL DONE Super12v     hope to do likewise with mine eventualy

i did a 9.7 something. if i am right, they where a full second or more faster.

i think that if i had grip, and could use the first and second gear at full trottle, i could have gone a bid faster. now i had to put it in second gear, right after the start, due wheelspin, at +/- 3000 rpm and even in the second gear, i had wheelspin. and because off the shortshift from 1e to 2e gear, i needed to shift into 3e gear before the finish. so i screwed up and my run was rubbis.

i was planning to do a other run, but because there was only 1 lane, and the people where already waiting a very long time to do a second run, (thanks to some people that dont have manners, and just got in front off the other waiting people) i parked the capri and call it a day.

as for the time's driven on the sprint, i talk to a xrrs member, he said that there where alote off problems whit the timing equipment, thats why they closed one lane first, (and not due oil on the track, like they said ) later it seems the times on the open lane, that it could be that they ware not all correct. thats also why they used a flag in the last runs. at least thats bin told to me today. now i still dont know what time i had or if the time they told me is correct, someone made a movie off my run??
