Holland XR/RS show 08, the european ford event off the year.

Well assuming it's the same length as last year Paul I would say you either wheel spinned half way down the track or that time is dodgy  

All my times where between 7.33 & 8. Just under 90mph at the end.

Turboshed would probably have been about the same as mine & Rob would be just a tad quicker I think.

You can see the charger lets him start really well & the Cossie's play catch up  


Will try & get a English 1,2,3 next year

most people got into the low 9's and high 8's, the faster one where in the low 8's, and just the top 2 came into the high 7's this year, the finals where not timed this year. at least thats whats have bin told to me.

i did a few runs whit the black capri, when it still had a 24v in it, (same suspension en damper setup), even lauching in 2e gear to avoid wheelspin, whitch did not help, resulted in only 8,57 sec time back then, and that was a slow time. so now i am even 1.2 sec slower?     i must have screwed up big time now.  

well next year, i try and hope i can do beter. i want that 4e place if possible

i dont think they measure that track out ?,my best on qualifing was 8.1 which put me 3rd going into the finals, they did not time the finals as there timing gear was shot.
my semi final was a struggle as my clutch was slipping and red lining the engine in 1st and 2nd,another 100m and i would have gone past the cossie.apparently i was third but the chap who run against rob in the semi's filed a complaint as he had been disqualified for a jump start on rob,next thing i knew the fat twat was getting his 3rd trophy,they should off run a 3rd 4th final,but i would of still lost due to the clutch,im really not to concerned as i had a great time and got back in one piece,next year bigger clutch and maybe switch diffs back to standard

i also send the organisation a mail, and thank them for a almost "perfect" day. but i also pointed them on the fact that some people got in front off the other waiting people, during the sprint.

now, this happens every year, and is done by the same group off 7 people. now whit only 1 lane, it was more ovbious. they did 3 sprints before we even had the chance to do 1 run. alote off people where very pissed about it, they waited just like me a +/- 40 minutes or more. but i think you saw that for your self.

sinds most people dont file a complain about it, i did. but sinds that group off people are good friends whit the organisation, i dont think i will get a reaction from the organisation, but from them.

as for the "fat twat", well he was not pleased about it. but its his one fault. it was not very sporty off him to file a complaint. on the video's made off the final, it was clear he jumped the flag.

yeah "fat twat" was a bit excessive!,apologies for that,but as you say he knows he jumped the flag,so why appeal,they should run proper timing gear as that sorts it all out,mind you the flag dropping is old school cool,i was in a funny mood when i got back from holland,off to work i go driving a very slow transit  .

dave looked at my 8.1 run and i was sat at the lights for a second before i went,whose the fat twat now!

the jury disqualifyed henri for jumping the flag, at least thats what on the dutch web site. so rob must have won. at least if my logic is wright.

Yay came 2nd :) tbh I was just happy to have a trophy it didn't matter which one it was. The vid I'm keen to see is from the 1st run of the final though as I did think I had it, my missus was taking video probably about 10 mteres from the finish line showing me still in front at this point and when we both crossed the line there was a pause for the decision. I think it was probably a dead heat myself but hoo hum, some you win and some you lose, as a grumpy saphire own said (who incidently came 3rd) "it's only a bit of fun"  :laugh:

One thing I will say is, becuase all the qualifying was done from the lane furthest from the hut that was quickest by far, and i mean by far the quicker lane to be in when in the final 8 shoot out puirelky from the ammount of rubber put down from the cars, I only realised this as every was saying no one could get traction and all my better launches was from that lane.

I think it's longer as 3 years prior I was putting in a 7.18 which was a slower car then. But also I beleive it all new timing gear which maybe another factor. Either way I learnt a long time ago one times aren't compareble from one year to the next.

One thing I will say is gray was cheated out of 3rd as he was given the oppertunity to fight it out for 3rd. None of the final 8 were timed due to the problems they

hmmm, it seems my logic isn't right. i must be a unlogic man.  

and no, your not gone have my azev's.    unless i find some new wheels for the capri. than i will let you know.

I think Robs referring to what Gray said he needed to do after the coffee  
involving a toilet and ending in faster times
Oh and i managed an 8.8 , whohoo  
Next year I'm bringing more horsepower and hopefully I'll learn how to launch it properly as that was my first ever attempt
