Hi all, Im new to the forum, im doing a 24v BOB conversion on a 1979 capri which was a 2.0 gl, I was doing a 12v conversion but turned up a very cheap 24v on ebay with autobox so I bought it. Have since found out that I need the BOA ecu and wiring to run it.Have a couple of questions for anyone who has done the conversion

I was told that the BOA and BOB engines have a speed sensor which goes in the gearbox, I have seen alot of conversions in mags etc running type 9s whichb have no provision for speed sensor so how donyou get around the problem if you want to run type 9 box.

Will the original starter work with a 2.8 flywheel they look like they are the same size?

Other than having to run BOA wiring and lengthening some of the wires are there any other major problems with this conversion? Any info relating to this conversion would be appreciated .
Thanks

hi there
my capri has the BOB engine and hybrid mt75 g/box
the easiest way to elimante tons of wires and other problems such like speed sensor is to use aftermarket ecu
im running MEGASQUIRT V3,its loom is like a printer cable
no fordy wireing loom, megasquirt wiring straight to the injectors etc etc
very easy to install, and shitloads more power!!!
plus its great fun tuning the ecu with laptop
my car featured in RETRO FORD june 08

you can use a vss sensor and gear from a old dhoc mt 75, only thing you need to do is use a 3mm ring on the vss sensor, so it does not goes in to deep in the box or make the quare drive flange 3 mm longer, easy to do with a file, and you need to make a mounth so the sensor stays in place.
