mk2 cossie

thank you very much for posting them for me mr Leebay, much appreciated

thanks for the comment Ade

needs a good polishing up really, as the road salt is getting to everything

Leebay

Not a problem mate.

Just noticed the polished chrome plug plates. You make them? Or did they come with the rocker covers?

I`ve lost both of my plastic ones grr, probably at the bottom of a box in the workshop somewhere.

bitterend

who made up your manifolds?

mk2 cossie

leebay- the plug covers i made from a sheet of aluminium, same as the surround for the air filter, although i got some one to use a circular saw to get the plug covers cut to just the right width

bitterend- the manifolds were made by Powerspeed who at the time were in hothfield, but have recently moved into ashford. not sure if they made much difference to power, but they made a huge difference to how smooth the car goes between 3-4000rpm

smashed

class car mate love them granadas and im hopeing to get the same done with my manifolds all goin well.

Well, it's been a long sleep for this thread, so I'll bung a couple of pics in of the ole girl ;)

And this polishing lark becomes almost a weekly chore through the winter

And hopefully a vid link to the dyno run

Don't think they will with the standard intake - thats the bottleneck imo. Nice car, i love Granadas

That may be, but my bum dyno reported that it was definately smoother through the revs  ;D
Cerainly less 'cammy' anyway

As for the inlet manifold, I have a spare that has been hacked up and in the process of being modded at the mo

Thanks Ade  ;D    Was only a 2nd gear run up to 6k as thats what the standard ECU would allow. Can get full throttle loads above 2k now with the Emerald switching the 2 autobox solenoids when necessary

Interesting. What are you doing to it exactly?

Heath Robinson

mk2 cossie

Not much to report on the inlet manifold front other than a pic of the spare plenum with the end caps off and the face machined flat

Got some new end caps welded up and awaiting milling to bolt them on

v6gerry

looking good how much are you extending the cap by , be interesting to see the differants it makes , did you manage to get the inside cleaned right out ?
when are you hoping to have it back on car .

It is a bit of 3inch pipe that has been cut in half, with a flange for each side welded on to. So hopefully it will be a decent amount of clearance compared to the standard glued on covers  ;D

Hopefully I can give the intake ports a bit of a tickle, as I have some flap wheels on a long shaft to get in there with. Will only give the casting a tidy up, not going too mad there.
Hoping to get it finished off and fitted in a couple of weeks time, shall post the findings up on here as soon as I know though

v6gerry

that should make a big different be interesting to see,  be better with a turbo set up as to force the air through !!! my engine is nearly done waiting for head gaskets to be made he thought he had them in stock but were for 93.5  bore mines 94 , been a long wait !

mk2 cossie

Well, hopefully some monies will have swapped hands and I'll have some pics to post up of my modded inlet manifold by the weekend  ;D

mk2 cossie

Bit later than the weekend before last, but a few pics of my manifold before I've set to it with the polishing equipment  :-X

v6gerry

Hi paul that looks very nice and should make a lot of differants  nice bit of tig welding there
mine is on its way now got the head gaskets should be on the dyno very shortly  ;D

mk2 cossie

Thanks Gerry  ;D
Yeah, the lads at Specialised Welding have made a lovely job of it.

Taken a back burner for the mo tho, as one of the front coilovers snapped last Friday
