Took it for mot today it passed ,didnt do it myself i'm on sick, the warer pump is leaking bad so it'll have to come off, this wasnt new it seems to be leaking between 2 bolt holes very strange as it had a new gasket,so its back to the spanners over the weekend  hope you'r all well....glyn..ps planing my moggie 24v next, can i put it on here it'll be all ford gear?

glyn

A little by the way,if you buy the bga engine gasket kit the water pump will leak as its the wrong shape the boys in the garage made me one it's now ok,also the rocker cover gaskets could do with a little bit taking off the metal insrts so that they will tighten down a bit more, had a slight leak but cured it like that...car is now on the road but i can't drive it as yet...regards glyn

Perhaps you should have brought a BOA gasket set in stead of a BGA one

I REALLY SHOULD HAVE NOTICED the bottom of the gasket were the bottom hose outlet is on the pump was,nt covered by the gasket,i put hylomar all round the pump stuck the gasket on the pump and then onto the engine didnt cheeck it and there was no gasket on the old eng ony silicone type so there u go,the issue with the rocker gaskets, has anyone else had leaks with them?cured now with scimin the inserts 20 thou off   glyn
