i wrote a massive blog to go with the pics but when i posted it it disappeared so here it is again:

I bought the sapphire in Summer 2005. 1 owner 60000 miles and a years mot for 450 quid, thank-you very much!.  I drove it around for about 2 weeks and with encouragement from the wife I decided to turn it into a project rather than run it into the ground going backwards and forwards to work. First job was to change the head for a big valve gas flowed race cam'd one.  Lowered it 40mm and started the lightening process by removing everything that wasn't essential for driving/mot.  Swapped a mingy escort van that didn't start and that a tramp had been living in for a cossie front bumper. Paid 6 quid for a pair of RS side skirts.  Got a full set of black lights from a scrap yard and added new front grille. lightened flywheel, exhaust manifold and carbs still to do. I'm having an intake manifold made up sp I can fit a pair of inch and 3/4 su carbs.  Need to source a sappire rear bumper ( pref black)  the bonnet vents are the only bits I have left of a 3 door cossie. I'll take some better pics tomorrow and bung them on here.
