I just used the normal bias valve.

Not properly been out on a road test like that though, just drove it around my mates yard, from what I've read it should be alright.

whiteestate

Cars booked in for an MOT on the 5th so will be on the road pretty much as of then fingers crossed ! All welding has been completed which was just insane and was driving me mad but i was not going to give up on it !
Now I'm finishing off the bodywork before i respray the car in Diamond white.

Ive advanced the crank sensor by opening the bolt holes to 8mm and it has made a difference i recon about 10bhp there or there abouts and its defiantly more responsive at lower revs  :2tu:

Im going to paint the alloys in the same colour grey as the engine and I've started to polish the rim lips pita but is a damn site better than welding the car where no one will ever see it cry !

Very nice mate  :2tu: a big milestone reached, well done for sticking at all that welding!!

The bodywork should be a breeze after all that graft. I'm sure you'll fly through the mot and you will be out getting some pleasure from it very soon now .

Run in ......

Cheers ade
Had a few electrical gremlins after a few drives out to test the engine power up relay failed as did the indicator flasher relay typical but luckily these have failed in time to be rectified and they are little issues.

This car handles superbly and is quite quick i am really impressed.
Bodywork is going to be a doddle and will be rewarding after the hard works been done but i will never ever do a project like this again that needs so much metalwork lol

Car passed the MOT today had 2 failures on the way over to the station though one bulb had blown for the numberplate light and a wire had pulled apart on the rear brake light !
Need to setup the front suspension for camber caster and tracking then its ideal for the time being  :2tu:

In for spray paint next so i will be ripping all the trim off soon lol

Well done  :2tu:

Are you keeping the car looking as stealthy/standard as possible to surprise a few people or will you pop some other bits and pieces on and go sporty ?

Liking the black bumpers and unassuming look myself .

Matt

whiteestate

Yeah going to keep it like that it nice and subtle. The bumpers are the standard grey ones but they look black lol ! its surprised a few people already one fella in his e350 that was funny I'm thinking of throwing a 100 shot of nos at it until i build the turbo engine.

Car has sadly passed away some idiot pulled out on me on a dual carriageway I hit the brakes swerved to avoid them and ended up hitting the crash barrier after 2 days of it being on the road I will post some pics up later.
The driver of the car who I avoided hitting drove off I have no reg of their car only that it was a silver Clio and an off duty police officers statement confirming what happened along with other drivers statements. I'm so pissed it's untrue but it was a big big smash and I've got minor bruises and whiplash that's only just hitting me now. I'm so angry as I could only insure it 3rd party so I don't know what to do ! The cars been recovered back to my house so I'm going to strip it and weigh in the shell. All that work down the pan !

Neck is a tad sore tonight but I'm safe !
Cars being trailered back tomorrow and I'm going to break it after i check the condition engine was still running perfectly it didn't even cut out after the crash ! i hit the barrier 90 degrees from forward as i swerved left under braking to avoid the dick head clio driver which sent me right into the barrier luckily going sideways scrubbed off a fair amount of speed ! The rear end hardly took any impact I'm gutted but I'm safe

Lemon-Ade

That looks nasty!! Don't really know what to say mate , you must be well pissed off!! I'm gutted for you after all that work you put in but as Paul said your safe and in one piece. Are you going for a reshell ?

Run in ......

whiteestate

Im ok luckily but if it was 50 yards further on i would have hit a bridge and then a lamp post i wish i had just hit the car that pulled out on me but hindsight is a wonderful thing  :police: I've just lost interest in it all now so so many dickheads that think its acceptable to drive like they are infallauable i don't enjoy driving anymore its not the same on our roads like it used to be back in the day

whiteestate

Its a shame but i know of a k reg hatchback up the road thats been sat for 10yrs in great knick if i can buy it and the underside is good and requires no welding i will re shell mine.
The estate was dropped back to mine lunch time and I'm ready to drop the engine and box out tomorrow night along with the beam.

Obviously you being relatively unhurt is the main thing and the fact you didn't have your family in the car at the time but you must be sooooo pissed off after everything you did, all the hard work and hours of pondering and problem solving.

It was looking like a nice Sierra, i don't know what to say?

Gutted!

whiteestate

Thanks all but the k reg sierra is a no go so all the gear is up for sale looking for £1500 ono for the lot.
After the big smash the engine was still running and did not stall but here is a vid before i tore its heart out

What sort of interior does the estate have? Dash any good?

Are your wing mirrors manual or electric?

Also what are the outer window surrounds like on the front doors?

You could squeeze a few more quid out of the Estate yet mate

whiteestate

Shells gone pal can't mess about with it as i couldn't have that parked up on my drive for weeks gave it away as still price at the mo is only about £40 per tonne !
