Hello, I'm Jay from Durley Hampshire
I've just bought a black 2.0s capri, 3 owners from new and in very good condition
I'm looking at either turbo charging a boa 2.9 cosworth v6 lump for it, or buying a mk1 focus 2.0 rs engine and turbo and running it on a after market ecu.
Has anyone done this on here yet?

Hello Jay , welcome to Fordpower.

Sounds a nice project mate , plenty of boosted v6 on here

I think the Capri suits a v6 or v8 really  :P be good to see some pics too mate.

welcome jay turbo boa does it for me  ;D ;D

mk2 cossie

welcome along  ;D
zetec turbo is the easy option, turbo BOA is the better option for noise and torque  :P

Welcome  ;D

I think a mk1 focus 2.0 rs engine would be a first for a Capri, sounds a lot of work too!

Welcome, and why dont you try an focus t5 engine? Not that much longer than a 4 cilinder engine, and the sound is just really cool! My sisters car has the same engine, altough its says volvo on the engine instead of ford, but with its 290 horses it goes like stink, but, i dont have any idea if you can find an engine on ebay or such, the 2.0 zetec engine with an turbo from the mk1 focus can be found much easyer.

What you want depends on the budget, a good blown 2,9 wil cost a few pounds more than the zetec, the aftermarket ecu is needed for both engines, but the zetec already has low compression and such!

V6 for me by the way, zetec sounds gay, had a focus with one, but had a really lame sound, v6 sounds great to start with ;D

Well its going to be a turbo boa, got a lump sorted today.

Im only looking to get about 300/350bhp
I was well impressed with the spool up time of the gt28r but that was on a 4pot engine? would this work well on this engine?
Im going to buy the turbo manifolds from boost performance, and most probably their custom plenum and once everything is mocked up in the engine bay get them to rebuild the engine. Ive got an emerald k3 for the management.

Dave is the man for turbo sizes mate  I'm sure he will be along soon.
