Hi all!
I'm Daniel and my car is Ford Taunus 1976 GL (originally was)
It has been restored since 2007 vary slowly because of lack of time for doing that. But now this totally rebuilt 2.3 Cologne +automatic transmission(rebuilt as well) is running! Here is the link to our first cold start!)

Welcome along  ;D

Be good to see some pics of the Taunus, as I think they are slightly better looking than the Cortina that we got in the UK  ;)

Hope you find it helpful on here though

Daniel

Here is a link to my Google album with my Taunus and Sierra.

Yes Tounus's shape is totally different from Cortina but not sure one of them is better . Cortina looks more "aggressive" to me when Taunus is more elegant with less curved body shape.  I like both of them especially Cortina Estate. Unfortunately the cars from UK is not so avaliable in Russia as German cars. So I have one of them. No two of them Sierra as well.

Welcome!

It is good to see there are other Taunus enthusiasts out there! :)

I have 2 1976 2.3S and a 1982 1.6 Bravo myself. Not sure what the Bravo is badged elsewhere. Savoy in Denmark, I know, and maybe Crusader in the UK. It's a crossover between a GL and Ghia.
None of them are in working order, they are just collecting dust at the moment.

Daniel

Thanks!
Yee there are some Taunus lovers here in Russia as well) some of such cars as Taunus ,Cortina,Granada,Capri was brought here from Germany at early 90th.
Unfortunately the conditions of most of that cars are poor enough at this moment and the "trim level" is mostly "L"(no any options - cheapest version) or "GL" (like my car It has some options as rear quarter light - opening ) and it's really hard to find something like  Ghia.
Is your 2.3S has Cologne V6 2.3 engine? Is there any foto of this car I can have a look?

Yes, the 2.3S are both 2.3 liter V6 models. I can take pictures, but you will have to wait until the weekend
when I get back home.

Daniel

Thanks a lot! I just want to understand which options was avaliable for 2.3S and how is it should look like.

I have not forgotten about you. I've been traveling around almost the entire month. Will be back home again next weekend
and then there is no more traveling for a while.

What details are  you looking for?

Daniel

I'm interested mostly with "S-trim" specialties. Exterior and interior features. The things that make this trim different from ... let's say GL-trim.
Thanks you.
