Fancy seeing you here!  ;)

It really is a good site, sure you will be coming back.

Your V8 Sierra is amazing as I've said many times, once you start on building it up for the last time. you'll be like kid on countdown for Christmas!

Thanks for the welcome  ;D

Only got as far as mocking up the engine and making the headers with the engine work, most of my time has been spent sorting out the rust!

Why dont you use shorty headers?

As for the edlebrock heads, check the spring rate of the Chinese valve springs. They are to light for even a stock roller block cam and replaces the bronze washers underneath the valve springs for a steel one.

If I stick to my original plan the cam will probably be a Comp Cams XEHR174 and I'll get the matching springs.

Good info on the washers, I'll make sure they get changed as well  ;D

I've already got a Scat 3.25" cast steel crank, forged steel Scat rods and a set of Keith Black Icon pistons

I made some long tubes because all the shorty headers are designed for left hand drive and I was worried about steering linkage clearance.

I did try a set of block huggers and they were no where close  :-

My DIY effort, first go at TIG welding so be kind!

You mean a XEHR 274 I hope.

As for the tig welding. It isn't easy but I like welding tig. I would have gone for a 3 inch collector, maybe even 3.5 inch, from there into a 2.5 inch pipe.
